In an exclusive interview with footitalia.com, Baptista was asked: "Matheus Cunha has been strongly linked to Manchester United. Has he got the personality to go into the club and be the leader they’re clearly missing?"
Baptista replied: "Matheus Cunha is an incredible player. Things didn’t work out at Atletico Madrid, but sometimes you need to go about things in a different way, take a different path. Many clubs are looking at him right now, so he just needs to keep doing what he’s doing. He’s doing incredible work, having a great season. If he moves to a big club now, he will show his full potential.
"I love his personality. Some players have been weighed down by the weight of the Manchester United shirt, I don’t think that Cunha is one of those players. I think he would love to have the responsibility of being the main man at a giant club like Manchester United."

Per reports, United are determined to part ways with Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony, Casemiro and Rasmus Hojlund this summer, and could earn over £120m ($160m) from sales alone. Cunha has scored 14 goals in 28 Premier League appearances this season.
