Lamine Yamal has declared his intention to become a Barcelona legend, despite admitting that he was "nervous" ahead of his first El Clasico.

Ahead of Barcelona's clash with Madrid this weekend, Yamal has insisted that he wants to become a legend at the Camp Nou. The winger is just 17 but already has 64 appearances under his belt for the club, scoring 12 goals and registering 16 assists. However, he has yet to taste victory over their fierce rivals in three games.

Yamal has a contract with Barcelona until 2026 but appears determined to become a lifer at Camp Nou, as he bids to join the likes of Lionel Messi and Ronaldinho in the pantheon of club icons.
WHAT YAMAL SAID
Yamal told reporters: "I would like to be remembered in the history of Barca as a legend, obviously it would be something incredible to have a legacy and to stay in the minds of the youngsters."
Asked about playing in El Clasico, he added: "I hadn't been nervous in a game before, to be honest, but when I entered the pitch and saw the faces of the opponents I saw that they were very good and that I was going to enter the pitch, and nothing, I was a bit nervous when I entered, but then I got over it."
