Everton striker Nikica Jelavic is facing two weeks on the sidelines and out of action after picking up an injury against Newcastle on Monday night, The Daily Mail report.
The Croatian marksman has impressed for the Merseysiders since moving to Goodison Park from Rangers in January, and has emerged as an important man for the Toffees.
Jelavic collided with a goalpost in the 2-2 draw with the Tyneside visitors, and has been on crutches for the last two games.
As a result the Everton medical staff are said to have diagnosed Jelavic with a fortnight’s layoff, which means the striker will miss Premier League games against Swansea and Southampton, as well as the Carling Cup tie at Leeds.
Jelavic was substituted after 44 minutes of the draw against Newcastle, and the likes of Kevin Mirallas and Victor Anichebe will now be handed the responsibility of grabbing the goals for David Moyes’ side in the Croat’s absence.
