Sheffield United fans are fuming as they believe a refereeing decision cost them the game against Millwall on Saturday.
The Blades’ 0-0 draw with Millwall has left them three points off the pace in the race for automatic promotion after Leeds beat their cross-city rivals Sheffield Wednesday.
United fans have taken issue with one of the referee’s decisions late in the game which they believe cost them all three points.
A sliding challenge on David McGoldrick in the closing minutes was deemed a fair tackle whilst many Blades believe that a free-kick should have been given which would have allowed them to run down the clock.
Millwall instead scored just moments later to level the game – United fans are fuming as this decision could cost Chris Wilder’s side a place in the Premier League come the end of the season.
Some fans on Twitter have blasted the referee and others were left baffled by the decision to not give a free kick.
