Luke Molyneux was the only player from the title-winning Doncaster Rovers side to make the six-player shortlist, while Notts County strike pairing David McGoldrick and Alassana Jatta were recognised after terrorising League Two defences all season long. Nathan Lowe of Walsall and Colchester United's Jack Payne were also up for the trophy.

All of the League Two PFA Players’ Player of the Year nominees bar Lowe were also named in the 2024-25 PFA League Two Team of the Year, with no one club dominating the XI. There are representatives from the likes of Wimbledon, Grimsby and Bradford, though there wasn't any space for runners-up Port Vale.
